"Gaia"
Charcoal on Paper x Digital Rendering 2025
Gaia is a surreal interpretation of Mother Gaia, exploring the relationship between femininity, nature, and creation. Inspired by a still-life drawing of a pregnant model, the triptych reflects on fertility, growth, and the cyclical origins of life. Each panel represents a different stage of creation: the outer figures embody the maternal form as both landscape and vessel, their bodies dissolving into living trees, while the central composition symbolizes the moment of genesis. Through mirrored forms, two bodies converge around a source of light, suggesting the union from which new life emerges, representing a continuous cycle of connection, transformation, and renewal.
